Brigham begins kindergarten

Backtracking a little.....Brigham's first day of kindergarten this fall. I was excited for Brigham to to be able to go to school and experience the fun that kindergarten is but I was a little choked up! He was so ready to go and not worried at all. He was especially excited to take the bus home!

This is my neighbors back yard. The homeowners are an older couple that have given us free reign of their huge front and back yards. They are in Arizona for the winter so I was checking out the 'forest' with Laci and our sled.

Laci showing off her "COOL CLOTHES"!

Laci showing off her new clothes from Uncle Jared and grandma. She loves them! She is convinced they are royal clothing for a princess!

TA DA!!!!

This is a shirt and scarf that are from her uncle Jared (Nephi's brother). Those are tuxedo ruffles on the shirt. SO CUTE! Laci wanted to wear it all day. I think she feels very regal in it. The scarf we've had for awhile but Laci found it and was sure that it should be a skirt. Jared has a clothing line called Black Chandelier. He just started doing a kids line last fall and it is adorable. I went to the runway show for his children's line and just melted over all of the tiny size versions of his awesome clothes.

If you want to know what Nephi likes to do for fun this pretty much sums it up. He's a runner and the bigger the challenge the better. He actually ran from one end of the Grand Canyon to the other. This took him from before sun up to well into the night. He hopes to do it again sometime!

updating our home

This is a before and after of our kitchen and dining area. The renovation wrapped up the week before Christmas. I am so glad it's over! headache after headache after headache.....

Here's an assortment of pictures taken on Christmas. Snow dumped on us for a few days. I've gotten to where I don't mind a white Christmas but this is too much. Cars were getting stuck in the road right in front of our house and everywhere else around town. It is now 3 days since the storm and there has been little improvement. I purposely put in a couple pictures of our house so anybody could have an idea of what our house is like. It's not a huge house. We purposely downgraded in size when we moved here (we lived 2 miles away). I was nervouse about how it was going to be getting used to a smaller house but we love it. It is a warm cozy home and we are in love with the neighborhood. We are only one block away from the best park in town. Our neighborhood has its own entrance and the park has multiple playgrounds, skate park, equal access playground, zoo, amusement park and more. We have dreamed of living in this area by the park and we are loving it. It was worth trading to an older tired home that needed the love and attention we have given it.

Since I am always the photograher it is a rare photo that has everyone in it. I've started trying to get myself in photos lately (so my children will have proof that I really did exist during their childhood ha ha). It's funny though, I feel like I'm being vain when I'm in more than one a year since I'm not used to it.
This photo is a little old but we're actually all in it. This is at Brigham's preschool graduation last spring (May 2007)

I'm going to give it a try....

Okay, my sister Marta and now my friend Jennifer have introduced me to blogging. It seemed like way more work than I was interested in but I'm actually excited about trying it out. I don't know what I'm doing so it will be not impressive I'm sure, but we'll see what I can figure out....
